May 17 Menu # 392

Breakfast:  
Blueberry muffin
   cherries

Apple cinnamon muffin

Bagels
   apples

Breakfast round
    orange juice

Lunch:    
Pizza 
     baby carrots

Cheese & crackers
   apple slices

Mac & cheese
    pears

orange slices
   green beans
   mini corn dogs

PBJ sandwich
  pear
  carrots
  fruit slushy

Snacks:
sunflower seeds
chicken salad & crackers
blueberries
apples
dandelion fritters ***

 **The fritters was truly an experiment.  We took this class on edible wild plants.  These were described as tasting like mini-donuts and one of the few recipes the teacher's kid liked. These weren't bad.  Surprisingly, my 9 year old liked them and my husband wouldn't try them.  If you try this, make sure the dandelions come from someplace that hasn't been sprayed with toxins.  I recommend picking small flowers.  I used a pancake batter from the 1950 Betty Crocker cookbook.

Dinner: 
Blueberry pancakes
    breakfast sausage
    hashbrowns

Chili

Sheet pan teriyaki chicken - i didn't like this recipe.  Maybe it was the sauce I used.
   brown rice

Ravioli
   seemed broccoli

Salad day

homemade pizza   - i thought this crust was better than some.

Bean tacos (these were supposed to be pie iron tacos but it was raining)
   grapes
